FAQs

Anyone with the commitment to turn up and train. Whether it’s a 5k run or an Ironman triathlon, I coach anyone who has a goal in mind.
-
If it’s an endurance event, even a niche one I might not have coached before, I’d love to work with you. Most of my athletes are runners, cyclists, or triathletes.
Running: 5k to half-marathon and marathon (or even an ultra!)
Cycling: Sportives and Gran Fondos, or general fitness
Triathlon: Super Sprint, Sprint, Olympic, 70.3, full Ironman

No! Many people need an event to motivate themselves, but if you want someone to give you guidance and hold you accountable while improving your general fitness, I’mm happy to coach you.
-
My coaching is split into two levels: Foundation and Performance.
If you’re just dipping your toes into structured training but only want light-touch support, Foundation is probably best for you.
If a more hands-on approach and a deeper level of guidance is what you’re looking for, Performance is for you.
You can see a full breakdown here.

Yes! Get in touch so we can discuss your goals over the phone, video call, or email. You can also swap between coaching tiers at any time, so there’s not pressure to lock in.

I use TrainingPeaks for all of my athletes. Workouts are scheduled weekly or monthly depending on your plan, and sync directly to smart training devices.
You don’t NEED to buy anything, however I do strongly recommend at least a watch with GPS. I will adapt my coaching to the tools you have available, using power, heart rate, pace or effort to build your workouts.
-
My coaching philosophy is that training should adapt to your life, not the other way around.
When we first start working together, I’ll spend some time getting to understand your schedule, time availability, and existing commitments. If you have ambitious goals it might require some flexibility, but I’ll never ask you to stop spending time with your family or quit your job.
-
Consistency is king when it comes to making big improvements in your fitness, so always try to give my athletes a workload that is manageable and won’t lead to injury or sickness.
But sometimes it happens. If it does, we’ll work together to understand what you can do while you’re not 100%. On both coaching plans, I will happily adjust training to account for injury or sickness.
-
No, but fitness isn’t built in a day, week, or even month – it usually takes 2-3 months to start seeing real gains. It’s always your decision, so you can end coaching at any time with 30-days notice.

Ah, the tricky one! As an online coach, swimming is often challenging due to the technique element. If my athletes can film themselves swimming then I provide some technique pointers and suggested drills, otherwise I can recommend specialist swim coaches to help you work on the finer details.
The swim training I give athletes usually focuses on the fitness side, although I do recommend drills for all swimmers.

I’m currently based in London, UK – but I work online so I will coach athletes based anywhere in the world. We’ll work together to find the best times to catch-up.
